Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has expressed his heartfelt condolences following the passing of Mama Ann Nyatoro Ndung’u, the mother of East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) Member of Parliament Hon. Kanini Kega.

In a message shared on his official Facebook page, Gachagua conveyed profound sadness at the loss, noting the painful timing of the tragedy. “It is with profound sadness I have learnt the passing on of Mama Ann Nyatoro Ndung’u, mother of EALA MP Hon. Kanini Kega early today. It is only yesterday that I gave you an assignment to the United Kingdom as my younger brother only for you to arrive and receive the sad news,” he wrote.

Gachagua extended his sympathy to the larger family of Simon Ndung’u Mutitu, friends, and relatives, assuring them of his prayers during this difficult moment. He emphasized the irreplaceable role of a mother, describing the loss as deeply painful, while praying for strength and comfort for the bereaved family.

The Former Deputy President paid tribute to Mama Ann Nyatoro Ndung’u as a respected family matriarch whose dedication to educating her children and kindness left a lasting mark in her community. He also recognized her service in the Woman’s Guild of PCEA Mwiyogo Parish, where she was an active and devoted member who contributed significantly to the parish’s development.

“As the family prepares to give her a befitting send-off, my family and I will continue to pray for them. May the soul of Mama Ann rest in eternal peace and perpetual light shine upon her forever,” Gachagua concluded.
