NAKURU, Kenya — Learners from across Nakuru County will have an opportunity to explore mathematics beyond the classroom when Ann Maths Club hosts the I Love Mathematics Festival 2026 from November 4 to 6 at AIC Lanet, Nakuru.

Running daily from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the festival will bring together learners aged 7–18 for three days of interactive learning, innovation, creativity, and mathematical exploration.

Organized under the theme “Mathematics Is for Everyone; Mathematics Is for Me,” the event seeks to make mathematics more engaging and accessible while inspiring learners to appreciate its application in everyday life, technology, and future careers.

The organizers are targeting between 600 and 1,000 learners from schools across Nakuru County, with school directors, heads of departments, and mathematics teachers being encouraged to mobilize students to participate.

Mathematics Meets Technology and Innovation

Unlike conventional classroom learning, the I Love Mathematics Festival 2026 will feature a range of activities designed to encourage learners to discover mathematics through practical experiences.

According to the founder Ann Gathura participants will engage in STEM and innovation activities, artificial intelligence and technology workshops, mathematics games and challenges, creativity and exploration sessions, and interactive mathematics experiences.

The programme will also include mentorship and career inspiration, giving learners an opportunity to connect their interest in mathematics with future academic and professional opportunities.

The combination of mathematics, science, technology, and creativity is expected to provide a dynamic learning environment where students can develop problem-solving skills, curiosity, and confidence.

Festival Opens Doors to Learners Across Different Grades

The festival welcomes learners under Kenya’s Competency-Based Education (CBE) curriculum, from Grade 1 to Grade 10, alongside Form Three students following the 8-4-4 curriculum.

This broad target group offers schools an opportunity to expose learners at different educational stages to practical mathematics activities and technology-driven learning experiences.

Mobilizers are expected to engage school directors, heads of departments, and mathematics teachers to encourage participation across primary, junior secondary, and senior secondary school levels.

With an attendance target of up to 1,000 learners, coordinated school participation will be essential to achieving balanced representation from across the county.

Participation Fee and Registration

The festival poster lists a participation fee of KSh 600 per learner.

Schools, parents, and guardians interested in securing a place for their learners can contact the organizers through 0704 434 379 for further information and reservations.
