Martha Karua Set to Grace Nakuru as PLP Opens New Offices, Farmers Party Joins Opposition Camp

Former Justice Minister and People’s Liberation Party (PLP) leader Martha Karua is expected in Nakuru this Saturday, September 26, 2026, for a political engagement that will bring together opposition leaders, aspiring politicians and supporters ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Karua is scheduled to be officially welcomed in Nakuru by Hon. Destiny Kamau, the PLP Nakuru Party Chairman and a 2027 Bahati parliamentary aspirant, according to information shared by the local organising team.

Her visit will coincide with the launch of the Farmers Party led by former Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri, as well as the official opening of PLP Nakuru offices.

Ngunjiri, a former Bahati MP, has recently emerged as leader of the Farmers Party and has been involved in political consultations with opposition figures.

Their recent discussions have focused on political intolerance, national unity and the country’s political situation ahead of 2027.

The Farmers Party’s entry into the political landscape comes as parties and political leaders continue to explore alliances and cooperation ahead of the next General Election. Ngunjiri has also publicly raised concerns about the credibility of the 2027 election and the potential consequences of disputed results.

PLP Positions Itself as a Platform for Young Aspirants
The Nakuru event is also expected to highlight the growing involvement of young politicians seeking elective positions in 2027.

According to the organisers, the new PLP Nakuru offices are being positioned as a meeting point for young aspirants and party members, with party membership registration currently ongoing.

Kamau has also extended an invitation to aspiring candidates in Nakuru to join the political engagement and participate in the party’s activities.

The party’s message in Nakuru is centred around “Tuungane Tujikomboe”, with organisers highlighting their stated emphasis on fairness, honesty, transparency and political unity.

Karua’s visit comes at a time when political parties are increasingly engaging in consultations and realignments ahead of the 2027 election. Her presence is therefore expected to attract attention from political players across Nakuru and beyond.
