Fire Tragedy as Four Family Members Perish in Nyamira Night Inferno

A sombre mood has engulfed Matongo village in Nyamokoroto sub-location, Masaba North, Nyamira County, after four members of one family died in a tragic night inferno.

The fire broke out in the dead of the night, razing down the family’s house and trapping its occupants inside. Among those who perished are a husband, his wife, their daughter, and a three-month-old grandchild.

Efforts to rescue them were futile as the house was already engulfed in flames by the time neighbours arrived.

Police officers from rushed to the scene and have since begun investigations into the cause of the fire.

Calls for calm as investigations continue, with villagers left reeling from shock over the heartbreaking tragedy.
