The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) of Kenya has announced 170 job vacancies across multiple departments, inviting qualified and motivated citizens to apply before the March 23 deadline.

The positions range from senior deputy directors to field-level teacher management officers, marking one of the Commission’s largest recruitment efforts in recent years.

The Commission emphasized its dedication to inclusivity, encouraging applications from women, persons with disabilities, marginalized groups, and minorities.

TSC reiterated that it does not charge any fees during the recruitment process and warned that presenting fake documents is a criminal offence.

Vacancies: 170 positions across 10 categories.

Largest intake: 132 posts for Assistant Director Teacher Management (Field).

Other roles: Senior Deputy Directors, Deputy Directors, and Principal Officers in HR, Audit, Risk Management, Staffing, and Discipline.

The recruitment aims to strengthen teacher management and administrative oversight nationwide. With the bulk of vacancies in field operations, the Commission is seeking to enhance grassroots implementation of policies, staffing, and discipline management in schools. Senior roles in HR, audit, and risk management highlight the Commission’s focus on accountability and professional development.

Applicants must review detailed job descriptions on the official TSC website before submitting their applications. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

Established under Article 237 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, the TSC is mandated to manage human resources in the education sector. It plays a central role in recruiting, developing, and regulating teachers, ensuring quality education across the country.

One of the most commendable aspects of the TSC’s recruitment drive is its emphasis on inclusivity. The Commission explicitly states its commitment to affording equal employment opportunities to men and women, members of all ethnic groups, and persons with disabilities. This approach reflects Kenya’s constitutional values of equality and non-discrimination. By encouraging applications from marginalized groups and minorities, the TSC ensures that its workforce mirrors the diversity of the nation.

Safeguarding Integrity in Recruitment

The Commission also reiterates its zero-tolerance policy towards corruption and fraud. Applicants are reminded that the TSC does not charge any fees at any stage of the recruitment process. Furthermore, presenting fake certificates or incorrect information is a criminal offence. These measures are crucial in maintaining the credibility of the Commission and ensuring that only qualified candidates are recruited.

Application Process

Interested candidates are required to submit their applications online through the TSC website (www.tsc.go.ke) by 23rd March 2026 at 23:59 East African Time.

This digital application process reflects the Commission’s modernization efforts, making recruitment more accessible and efficient. Applicants are encouraged to carefully review the detailed job descriptions and specifications posted on the website before applying.
