Drama unfolded in Parliament as MPs and senators openly revolted against President Ruto’s accusations of corruption.

The National Assembly’s morning session collapsed due to lack of quorum, with only three MPs turning up. Deputy Speaker Gladys Shollei was forced to adjourn.

Later, MPs lashed out at Ruto’s remarks, demanding Speakers Moses Wetang’ula and Amason Kingi summon him to table evidence. They warned of drastic measures if the Speakers failed to act.

Standard

President Ruto unveiled a powerful multiagency taskforce to coordinate Kenya’s anti-corruption war.

The team includes agencies such as the NIS, EACC, DCI, FRC, ARA, KRA, CBK, PPRA, and will be anchored in the Executive Office of the President, with the Attorney General’s office as secretariat.

Its mandate will be to streamline investigations, eliminate turf wars, enhance intelligence sharing, and strengthen asset recovery both locally and internationally.

Daily Nation

The paper highlights the impeachment case of Governor Erick Mutai. Senators are set to decide whether to handle the matter in plenary or through an 11-member special committee.

Mutai, impeached by Kericho MCAs over alleged abuse of office, procurement irregularities, nepotism, and constitutional violations, now awaits the Senate’s final decision.

However, a section of MCAs opposed to the impeachment filed affidavits contesting the process, arguing it was unconstitutional and procedurally flawed.
