Dramatic confrontation between two police officers allegedly involved with the same woman ended in tragedy.

Police Constable Manasseh Ithiru, attached to Kitengela Police Station, died after reportedly falling from the fourth floor of Geoffrey Flats, an apartment complex about three kilometres south of the station along Deliverance Road.

According to a police report seen by Stateupdate, Ithiru had gone to visit his girlfriend, 27-year-old Irene Wavinya Nzioka, who resides in room 416 of the building. Hours later, Sergeant Abubakar Said, attached to CIPU EPZ Camp Athi River, arrived at the same residence unexpectedly.

What followed was a heated scuffle between the two officers. Witness accounts and preliminary investigations suggest Sgt Said overpowered his junior before allegedly throwing him over the balcony.

Officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) Unit based in Kitengela rushed to the scene. They found Ithiru’s body in the parking lot, lying in a pool of blood with multiple injuries, including severe head trauma.

The scene was processed and documented as part of an ongoing investigation. The body was later moved to Shalom Hospital Mortuary for a post-mortem examination.

Both Sgt Said and Ms. Nzioka have been taken into custody and are assisting investigators. Authorities say they are pursuing all leads to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the fatal incident, which has shocked the police fraternity and residents
