In a bold move to equip local youth with essential digital skills, West Mugirango Constituency is set to host a two-week free IT training program courtesy of Huawei DigiTruck.
This timely initiative is a collaborative effort aimed at enhancing digital literacy among young people in the region, thereby improving their competitiveness in today’s technology-driven world.
The training, which is scheduled to begin on June 29th at the CDF Hall, will run daily from 8:00 AM and culminate in a graduation ceremony with the awarding of certificates to successful participants. The program is entirely free of charge, offering a rare opportunity for interested youths to gain professional-level skills without any financial burden.
The Huawei DigiTruck is a mobile classroom—an innovative concept that transforms a truck into a digital learning space equipped with computers, internet connectivity, and professional instructors.
It has already made a significant impact in various parts of Kenya, and its arrival in West Mugirango marks a major milestone for local empowerment efforts.
According to West Mugirango Member of Parliament, Hon. Steve Mogaka, the program is designed to open doors for youth who may not have access to such resources under normal circumstances.
“This is an exciting opportunity to empower our youth with valuable IT skills that can shape their futures. I encourage all interested individuals to take full advantage of this initiative,” said the MP.
Registration is now open at the West Mugirango Constituency offices, running from Thursday to Saturday, June 28th, between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Youths are encouraged to register early as slots are limited and demand is expected to be high.
The training will cover a wide array of ICT topics including basic computer operations, Microsoft Office applications, internet use, cybersecurity basics, and digital entrepreneurship.
The practical, hands-on nature of the course ensures that participants walk away with applicable knowledge that can lead to employment or entrepreneurial ventures.
This initiative aligns with the national agenda of promoting digital inclusion, especially in rural areas, and comes at a time when technology is central to most employment sectors.
By bridging the digital gap, the Huawei DigiTruck training offers hope and direction to many young people in West Mugirango who are eager to better their lives.
With the training starting soon, all eligible youths are urged to register promptly and be part of this transformative experience.
