The Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC) has officially announced the opening of nine job vacancies, calling on qualified and experienced professionals to apply before the deadline on Tuesday, June 3, 2025.
The positions, ranging from entry-level to senior management, were published in the MyGov government newspaper on May 13.
According to the advertisement, KIMC is seeking to fill the following roles: Senior Deputy Director (Academic Affairs) on a five-year contract, Human Resource Management & Development Officer I, Accountant II, Chef II, Assistant Office Administrator III, Electrical/Electronic Technician III, Technical Instructor III, Cook III, and Driver III.
KIMC, a public institution established in 1961 and now operating as a state corporation under Legal Notice No. 197 of 2011, trains professionals in communication and cinematic arts at certificate, diploma, and postgraduate levels. It emphasized its commitment to equal opportunity employment and encouraged individuals with disabilities and those from marginalized communities to apply.
Applicants must submit a detailed curriculum vitae (CV), academic and professional certificates, transcripts, ID copy, testimonials, and contact details of three referees. All applications must be addressed to the Director/CEO at the KIMC headquarters located on Uholo Road, South B, Nairobi.
Meanwhile, career development associate Simon Ingari advised job seekers to work on their confidence, especially during interviews. He recommended practicing public speaking, arriving at the interview venue at least 30 minutes early, and showing courtesy to everyone from the gate to the reception.
“Confidence helps you highlight your achievements and gives you the composure needed to tackle tough interview questions,” Ingari noted.
