Kasipul MP Charles Ong’ondo Were Shot Dead in Nairobi

Kasipul Member of Parliament, Charles Ong’ondo Were, was tragically shot dead on Wednesday evening in what appears to be a targeted assassination. The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 PM near the City Mortuary roundabout in Nairobi.

According to eyewitness accounts, the legislator was ambushed by two unidentified men on a motorbike. One of the assailants is said to have disembarked and opened fire on the MP at close range.

The gunshots fatally wounded the parliamentarian, while his driver, who was also present during the attack, escaped unharmed. This detail has raised suspicions that the attackers specifically aimed for the MP.

Traffic police officers who were stationed nearby reportedly witnessed the shocking incident. Emergency services were quickly called, and the MP was rushed to Nairobi Hospital. However, despite medical efforts, he was declared dead upon arrival.

The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and authorities have launched investigations into the incident. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the identities of the gunmen remain unknown.

The brutal killing has sent shockwaves across the political landscape and the nation at large, as citizens and leaders express outrage and demand justice.
