What Was Witnessed In Liverpool’s 1-1 Draw Against West Brom

Liverpool welcomed West Bromwich Albion at the Anfield Stadium on Sunday December 27. Liverpool had hopes of winning that game so as to strengthen their lead in the premier league table. Each team tried their best at least to get a point if not three points. A total of 2,000 fans witnessed that match. The game ended in a 1-1 draw and the two teams had to carry away one point each. Liverpool still lead the table with 32 points. The following is what was witnessed in that game.


1. Sadio Mane’s goal.

Sadio Mane opened the score sheet with an early goal for The Reds. He scored in the 12th minute after being assisted by Joel Matip. This goal set everything right for Liverpool as they started pushing for a bigger and better win.


2. Semi Ajayi’s equalizer.

After being down for almost the entire game, West Brom were lucky to get an equalizer away from home. Semi Ajayi netted the equalizer in the 82nd minute which brought West Brom back in the game. He was assisted by Matheus Pereira. West Brom decided to hang on that draw till the end of the match. They defended with their all despite Liverpool posing a threat to them.

3. Liverpool’s ball possession.

Liverpool are always known for giving other teams trouble and West Brom was not an exemption. Liverpool had massive ball possession as compared to their visitors West Brom. They gave West Brom a hard time in finding the ball. The Reds had a ball possession of 78% by the end of the match. That was so incredible.


4. Liverpool’s zero cards.

Liverpool players played in the most disciplined way possible. There were no serious fouls committed by The Reds and that’s why none of them was booked by the referee. That was a nice thing for them.
