Warning To Politicians After NCIC New Introduction

The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) introduced a new initiative to curb political unrest. According to Nation on Monday January 25, NCIC chairman Samuel Kobia introduced “Wall of Shame” which will name politicians who break electoral codes.
This list will name and shame politicians who breach the codes of conduct governing elections and political parties.
The chairman revealed that the move was set to stem out hate speech and violence during elections. Kobia also stated that the commission would name individuals who defy codes of conduct that go against National values.
The ‘Wall of Shame’ would be in effect before, during and after the general elections in 2022.
Members who would be behind this include the IEBC, the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and Office of the Registrar of Political Parties.
The members will work together to manage the heat that comes with every election period in Kenya.
This comes as the country continues to witness early political campaigns. New alliances continue to be formed as the election period draws closer.
The IEBC’s set date for the elections is on August 9th of 2022.
