The Ex-Nairobi governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko was impeached by the county assembly and his removal approved by the Senate.

Mike Sonko’s impeachment by the Senate was immediately followed by a gazettement by Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka.

There were allegations made by the outgone Governor that the Senators who voted against him were bribed 2 Million to pass the impeachment of the governor.

Nairobi County assembly speaker took over as the acting governor just after Sonko’s removal from office was justified by the Senate.

The Nairobi residents are expected to head to the polls to elect their new governor who will be in charge of the county for the remaining term.

During the by-election the handshake team is expected to face off with the Hustlers led by the deputy president Dr William Ruto.

According to a report by the Standard News Digital, the handshake team is planning on how they shall take over the Nairobi county governorship.

Sources who spoke to the media team revealed that the former prime minister Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta are deliberating on having a Joint Candidature in the governorship By-election.

What is happened when the speaker Beatrice Elachi was impeached is what is likely to happen, Jubilee will produce the governor Candidate as ODM will give a deputy governor.

The two handshake partners will be keen to ensure that they don’t loose in the mini-election like in Msambweni since this will spell doom for the handshake.
