Uhuru Kenyatta Orders Schools Closure, Lockdown, Restricts Churches, Weddings and Funerals


On 26th, March president Uhuru Kenyatta addressed the nation concerning the new wave of the Corona virus pandemic.

The announced measures to curb the spread of the deadly disease such as a lockdown in counties affected the virus.

He further said that International travel into and out of Kenya will continue but all persons coming into the country must have Negative Covid Certificate acquired not less than 92 hours.

Physical gatherings at all places of worship in the 5 disease infested counties stand suspended until further notice.

President Uhuru Kenyatta asserted, ” Prohibition against political gatherings extended. Those above 58 years of age shall be vaccinated as a priority in the first vaccination phase.”

President Uhuru Kenyatta has announced the closure of learning institutions other than for candidates sitting exams. No further in-person learning.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has directed the Ministries of Interior & Ministry of Health to review the protocols of re-issuance of curfew passes and exemptions.
