The former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has accused the star newspaper for reporting false information against him. In his tweet Raila accussed the star Kenya for indicating that Raila said that Luo and other African communities to cremate the dead in this covid-19 pandemic. However, Raila Despised The Star Newspaper report by indicating he did not say that the dead should be cremate but to embrace speedy burials and avoid crowded burial ceremonies during his interview with Kameme TV and Radio Milele.

“I wish to clarify that in my interview with Kameme TV and Radio Milele, I did not ask the luo or any other Kenyan and African community to cremate the dead as reported by the star Newspaper.Instead I called on Kenyans to embrace speedy burials and avoid elaborate and crowded burial ceremonies at this time of covid-19 to help contain the spread of the coronavirus. Cremation has never been part of the culture of most African communities and must not be imposed on them now” Raila Stated.

He further Added that ” I ask Kenyans to treat report in the star as a continuation of the sensational misreporting that has characterized the paper lately including a recent Failse and sensational report that I was to head economic Recovery Team.”
