The government racing against time to ensure that schools are fully re-opened come next year after long period of closure.
Education cabinet secretary Professor George Magoha vowed not to turn back concerning the full re-opening since most Learners have been greatly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic as some have dropped out of school, teenage pregnancies recorded in the country and others indulged in crime and other vices.
Already the government has managed to procure desks and other necessary facilities which Shall be used by the leaners in the various Institutions.
The teachers service commission announced job vacancies and salaries for teachers who will be hired to facilitate the learning of Students in next year.
TSC is looking for 6,674 teachers who will be employed for a period of one year in both primary and secondary School.
According to an advertisement that was sent to local Newspapers 1,998 tutors will employed at primary schools, while 4,676 will be working at the secondary schools.
Concerning the salaries, the newly hired teachers in primary Schools will receive Sh15,000 while those in secondary school will be paid Sh20,000.
The government is currently using Ksh 17 billion to hire 26,000 teachers to manage high school enrolment under the 100 per cent transition but will need Sh8.1 billion annually to hire 12,500 teachers to curb the normal shortage.
