Tanzania Elections Turns Messy As Deaths Recorded Over Police Alleged Brutality

Tanzanian are expected to cast their votes in the ballot on October 28th with Zanzibar having started voting today where special groups will vote.

Zanzibar Electoral Commission (ZEC) while addressing the media asserted that special groups will vote include the election commission officials and security officers.

The elections will be heavily contested with the President John Pombe Magufuli and Tundu Lissu expected to contest fiercely.

Reports from Tanzania indicate that 12 people have been allegedly killed by the police and while Several wounded.

What has stirred anger is the fact that several others are not know about their whereabouts and police are collecting people who are wounded.

Most Tanzanians have started experiencing network issues with twitter not being accessible in some parts of the country.

Citizens have opted to use Virtual private networks to express their opinions since the social media platforms have become an accessible.
