Talking Points From Manchester United’s 6-2 Win Against Leeds United

On Sunday December 20, Manchester United displayed an excellent game when they played against Leeds United at the Old Trafford. Man United wanted to continue with their winning ways and that’s why they hammered their visitors Leeds 6-2. Many had expected Leeds to give Man United a hard time in breaking their defence but the Red Devils did it with ease and they were back in top four in the premier league table. Some of the things witnessed are as follows.

1. Leeds United’s zero cards.

Leeds players played safe despite being under pressure from Man United side. No single player from Leeds was booked by the referee for any foul play.

2. McTominay’s brace.

Scott McTominay netted twice for Man United. His goals were the first two goals of the match which came really quick. He scored in the 2nd minute from Bruno Fernandes’ assist and again in the 3rd minute from Anthony Martial’s assist.

3. Lindelof on the score sheet.

Victor Lindelof also added one for the Red Devils. He scored in the 37th minute after getting a fantastic assist from Anthony Martial.

4. Bruno Fernandes’ brace.

Bruno Fernandes continued with his scoring ways. He scored a brace for Man United with the goals coming in the 20th and 70th minutes. His second goal was from the penalty spot, a penalty which Man United were awarded after Pascal Struijk tripped Anthony Martial.

5. Liam Cooper’s goal.

Liam Cooper gave Leeds their first goal in the 41st minute. He was assisted by Raphinha.

6. Stuart Dallas’ goal.

Stuart Dallas scored the second goal for Leeds United in the 73rd minute after an assist came from Raphinha. This was all that Leeds could afford in that game.

7. Daniel James’ goal.

Daniel James was also on the score sheet for Man United after scoring in the 66th minute from Scott McTominay’s assist.

8. Goalkeepers’ saves.

Goalkeepers from each side showed excellence when it came to making saves. Manchester United’s David De Gea made 4 saves while Leeds United’s Illan Meslier made 8 saves.
