Talking Points From Arsenal’s 1-0 Win Against Brighton

On Tuesday night December 29, Arsenal visited The American Express Community Stadium for a premier league clash against the hosts Brighton. Arsenal were keen to redeem themselves as they have had series of poor results in the recent past. The Gunners managed to beat their hosts Brighton 1-0.

 

That was really a tough match as it was only one goal that separated the two sides. Arsenal walked home heads high with the three points. Arsenal now sit at position 13 on the premier league table with 20 points while Brighton are at position 17 with 13 points. What transpired in that match is as follows.

1. Alexandre Lacazette’s goal.

The two teams ended the first half in a barren draw. When they came back for the second half, Arsenal found themselves on the lucky side as they got one past Brighton’s goalkeeper. Alexandre Lacazette scored for the Gunners in the 66th minute after getting an assist from Bukayo Saka.

2. Arsenal’s clean sheet.

After Lacazette’s goal in the 66th minute, Arsenal tried their best not to concede and that’s how they managed to keep the 1-0 clean sheet up to the end of the match. That was something useful to them in regards to goal tally. It was also an additional clean sheet to their goalkeeper Bernd Leno.

3. Arsenal’s zero cards.

Arsenal players were on the safe side in that game. None of them was booked by the referee for any serious foul. They played in a more composed and disciplined way.

4. Balanced ball possession.

The game witnessed a balanced ball possession between the two teams. They both had equal chances in possessing the ball in the two halves. They finished the match with a ball possession of 50% each.
