Sonko To Be Back In Office As Senator Changes Tune After impeachment

Following the Impeachment of Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko by the Senate over gross misconduct, abusive of office among other allegations penned by Nairobi county Assembly MCA’s, fresh details has emanated pertaining his ouster.

 

Expressing his concern over the Impeachment of Mike Sonko, Narok senator Ledama Ole Kina has dismissed the Impeachment demanding Sonko to be back to office. According to Ole Kina, it’s a shame for a leader elected by 871, 794 Kenyans to be just Impeached by 27 senators.

 

Senator Ole Kina worried about democracy in Kenya following the impeachment of Mike Sonko. He further claimed that the Constitution must be changed to allow Sonko to be back in Office.

“The more I think of @MikeSonko impeachment the more I worry about democracy in Kenya!! How can a leader elected by 871, 794 Kenyans be impeached by 27 Senators ? No no no we must change the constitution! Sonko will be back!” Senator Ledama Ole Kina affirmed

However, Mike Sonko who seemed to be saddened, stated that his Impeachment was driven by political force. According to Sonko in information he peened in social media, he said that Senate’s Speaker Ken Lusaka told him that he received an order from above to succeed the law. He Accused president Uhuru Kenyatta for betraying him and other BBI allies attached to his Impeachment.

 

Some senators stood firm to protect Sonko over the impeachment but the move was overwhelming. Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen stated that the exercise wasn’t fair as the law was not applied effectively.
