Schools To Open Next Year April 2021

Due to covid-19 pandemic affecting the country, the government of Kenya under the leadership of president Uhuru Kenyatta clossed all educational institutions in a bid to combat the spread of covid-19 pandemic in the country. Many students are staying safe at home. However, many Kenyans have come up with diverse opinions on the opening of schools despite of covid-19 pandemic.
This comes after the senator of Elgeyo Marakwet and former Majority leader in the Senate Kipchumba Murkomen asserted in his twitter account that Schools should open next year April, 2021. Murkomen further indicated that, it isn’t wise to open school earlier but to wait until 2021.” I Don’t foresee and I don’t think it’s wise to open schools until, at least April 2021,” Murkomen twitted.

However, the government of Kenya through the Ministry of education admitted that, they are placing bold measures to ensure that Schools will open soon. The cabinet secretary of education professor Magoha affirmed that the school calendar will not change and students are safe at home.
