Schools Reopening: Details Emerges As MOE Fails To Loosen The Rope

The ministry of education still holds fully school reopening on January 4, 2021. The Covid-19 pandemic had paralyzed Education system in Kenya that led to shut up of all Educational institutions in a bid to curb further spread of the virus.

 

Since the first case of covid-19 reported in Kenya in March 2020, cases have been escalating on daily basis. However, the covid-19 curve tended to flatten on September where the ministry of education Embraced a bold move in consideration of partial schools reopening. Amongest the classes that were considered is grade 4, class 8 and form four.

 

As the government set to reopen schools in January 4, 2021, details has emerged on preparedness on the race against time. With only one week remaining to the scheduled reopening of schools, families, teachers and Education experts are agonising over how to ensure the safety of leaners who have been at home since March this year.

 

However, the government Affirmed that measures are put in place to ensure the safety of Learners in school upon fully resumption of learning. The government is underscoring strict adherence to covid-19 containment measures especially at this second phase of covid-19 pandemic that’s experienced following the upsurge of covid-19.
