Schools Re-opening: Relief To Parents And Students As Magoha Makes A Major Confession

Last month the Education Cabinet secretary Professor George Magoha in consultation with other stakeholders made a decision to reopen the schools for the candidates as preparation is on going concerning the rest of the students.

The second wave of Covid-19 has caused fear and panic among teachers, parents and students as more deaths have been recorded over the past few days.

During today’s Corona virus briefing the health Cabinet secretary announced that 724 tested positive from 5,085 samples tested in the last 24 hours. The health Ministry warned that the number rose to 56,601 with a 14.2pc positivity rate.

On 2nd November, the Education Cabinet secretary while assessing learning and the delivery of desks at Mukuru primary at Mukuru Kayaba in Nairobi today, he assured parents that students who are in school will continue learning because they are safe.

Ministry of Education posted on twitter, “CS for Education, Prof. George Magoha assessing learning and delivery of desks to enhance learning environment at Mukuru Primary School at Mukuru Kayaba in Nairobi today. He said students who are already in school will continue to be learning, saying they are safer in school.”


The Coastal region has been greatly affected by Corona virus which resulted to the Shutting down of Star of the Sea Girls’ Secondary School, Mama Ngina Girls’ High School and Tononoka Boys’ Secondary School last month after teachers and students contracted the virus.
