Schools Re-opening: Magoha Announces All Students Re-opening Details

The education ministry has been greatly affected as students will have to be absent from school for close to a whole academic year.
Covid-19 pandemic that first began in Wuhan China made it hard for the students to stay at school because of the challenges of controlling it spreads and meeting social distance requirements.
When the president Uhuru Kenyatta addressed the nation he insisted that the total schools re-opening will not happen this year but probably next year.
The decision to have candidates in session while other students are at home is likely to create a back log in the education system that will take time to recover.
It is not yet clear on how the ministry will recover the lost time amongst students who have stayed at home during this period.
Education Cabinet Secretary Professor George Magoha while at Maragua Ridge Secondary school in Murang’a county yesterday, addressed the issue concerning the Looming crisis during the transition of students.
The Learners who are at home have been advised to consider actively participating in the lessons being offered on Radio, television and other platforms by the government.
Sources who spoke to the standard digital media, revealed that the education ministry is looking forward to having a new academic year starting from January and end around May, from then a new calendar will begin and end by 2021.
