During today’s Labor day celebration President Uhuru Kenyatta addressed the current Covid-19 situation in the country.
President Kenyatta expressed joy as Nairobi COVID-19 caseload has dropped down by 74% and the same trend has applied in other zoned areas in April.
He said that the Cessation of movement in zoned areas has been lifted. Curfew in the zoned areas will commences at 10 PM – 4 AM, effective midnight on this day of May, 2021.
Schools will reopen countrywide on May 10 as per the calendar issued by the Ministry of Education.
“A surge of infections will necessitate an escalation of containment measures, a possibility we all dread. Let us all step up together for our motherland,” Kenyatta announced.
Bars to operate until 7PM. Employers encouraged to allow workers work from home, with exception of critical workers. Hospital visits limited to one visitor per patient per day.
Political gathering ban was extended. It is never the intent of the Government to make life unbearable.
