Sad News On Sportpesa As Uhuru’s Government Changes Tune

At the end of last week Sportspesa gave Kenyan gamblers a reason to smile as they announced there resumption to Kenya after a long period of being banned.

The giant betting campany had a conflicts with the government concerning the tax which made the government to cancel their licence in August 2019.

Sportpesa counter attacked the government by withdrawing their sponsorship on the various clubs that they used to greatly Support which adversely affected the sports Sector in the country.

Kenyan government put tough measures in order to regulate the rising gambling tendency amongst Kenyans which affected many people causing some commit suicide and break families.

Just hours after the Sportspesa CEO Ronald Karauri had revealed the resumption of their services to the country the Betting and licencing board suspended their licence.

BCLB chairman Cyrus Maina said that they reason why they chose to revoke the license was because Sportpesa did not use the right channel to get back their permit.

Another issue that made it hard for them to resume their Operations in the country is the fact that there is a case in court on Sportspesa under no. 471 of 2019.
