Ruto’s Bold Move To Deal With Covid-19 Ahead Of President Uhuru’s Address

Due to escalation of covid-19 cases experienced in the country, the deputy President William Ruto has identified the bold step towards combating the further spread of deadly virus in the country.The second wave of covid-19 experienced in the country has been reportedly to increase due to defy of combatment measures set.

 

Deputy President William Ruto has taken a bold step of postponing his public engagement across the country until further notice due to upsurge in covid-19 cases experienced.

 

Following the statement he penned in social media, DP Ruto postponed the empowerment meeting that were to be conducted this weekend in the counties of Machakos, Kitui and Makueni due to escalation of covid-19.

“The upsurge in Covid-19 cases strongly indicates that a second wave my be in the offing.For this reason I have decided to significantly scale down my public engagements until further notice. The empowerment meetings for this weekend in machakos, kitui and makueni are postponed,” DP William Ruto pinned

 

However, President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to address the state today on covid-19 briefing in the country and to set out the possible move in dealing with covid-19 surge experienced.

The council of governors had submitted memorandum asking president Uhuru Kenyatta to shut down bars, shift curfew form kick start of 11.00pm to 4.00am to kick start of 7.00pm to 5.00am and banning of social gatherings as a bid of combating the further spread of the virus.
