Raila Odinga has been the longest serving opposition leader in Kenya and won the hearts of many people because of his tough stand against the government since President Moi’s tunure to the present day president.
However, according to a report by Wikileaks a secreacy agency the former Prime Minister might not be how people think he is in public.
The agency released a report on the 2007 presidential elections, that alleged that Raila played a dirty game against his arch rival former president Mwai Kibaki. However the unfair game against Kibaki did not bear fruit as he went on to win the presidential elections.
Rails’s team planned a budget of Sh29.8million that was to be spent in the Kenyan media stations during the elections periods to lure the media station to do coverage in favour of the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
What is shocking is that very big names in media industry were mentioned in the report over allegations of aiding Raila in playing foul against the former president.
The opposition leader used the media to stage a ground for the rejection of the general elections outcome in the event that Mwai Kibaki could be declared as the Presidential elections winner by elections body.
Raila is thought to have acquired funds from countries such as Nigeria, South Africa, United Arab Emirates, Venezuela and the Democratic Republic of Congo, some of heads of state of this Countries were Kibaki’s enemies by that time.
