The Governor for Makueni, Kivutha Kibwana, held talks with the ODM Party searching for a winning formula for the 2022 general elections.
The governor who is on his second term is seemed to be trying to actualize his aspirations of ditching the Wiper Democratic Movement headed by Kalonzo Musyoka which enjoys a mass following in the Eastern.
Kibwana, yesterday held private talks with the party officials of Orange Democratic Movement from the Lower Eastern region regarding their possibility of working together.
In a statement which was signed by the Machako’s ODM party county chairpersons, including Makueni and Kitui, the party stated that it was wooing Kibwana to join hands with ODM because he has similar development and ideologies like that of the party leader Raila Odinga.
The statement which was read by Kitui ODM chairman, Peter Munyasya, stated that they had a fruitful discussion with the governor in relation to national and regional politics and more than that was about emerging national and regional development issues.
The ODM officials asked the Makueni governor to join forces with Raila Odinga for the prosperity of this nation.
The governor also on his part stated that he and Raila together with other focused leaders have the same mind of development in terms of agitating for genuine transformation of taking the country forward.
He confirmed that it would never be a hard thing for him to work with the ODM leader.
The Makueni governor said that he would seek advice from his political allies and supporters before he finally decides.
The county chief for Makueni also asked ODM to engage the Machakos and Kitui counterparts of governor Kibwana, Mr. Alfred Mutua and Charity Ngilu as they previously held talks with the ODM leader for the region to work together as a block.
