Quickmart Supermarket has replaced Tuskys at Pioneer House in Nairobi. According to Business Daily, the new store is set to be opened on Friday February 26.
“We shall be opening QuickMart Pioneer branch tomorrow (Friday) morning. The route is strategic to Nairobi’s Central railway station terminus which has the right traffic flow,” said Mr Karanja who is head of operations.
The outlet took over the space in the busy Nairobi Central Business District (CBD) as Tuskys continues to go through hardships. Quickmart seems to be taking over as Tuskys fumbles.
The Supermarket continues to be the sole beneficiary of Tuskys woes. Their new outlet is now the third in the CBD and their 38th countrywide.
The new store is also set to hire over 100 people in Nairobi to help with its operations. The busy pioneer house will also provide for an opportunity to grow fast.
Tuskys on the other hand continues to close most of its branches due to cash flow hitches. Their clash with suppliers also keep haunting them due to financial disputes.
It now follows a string of other supermarkets that have flipped in the country especially since the pandemic hit.
