President Uhuru Kenyatta Speaks On Schools Reopening

President Uhuru Kenyatta’s on the July 6th announced easening of restrictions that were put across due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Kenyatta said that education stakeholders shall sit down to discuss on how the basic education and higher education sectors will gradually reopen.
“In the next 21 days we shall study patterns of interaction and the spread of the disease. Any trends that signal a worsening of the pandemic, we will have no choice but to return to lockdown,”President Uhuru Kenyatta asserted.
He said that by reopening Nairobi, Mombasa, and Mandera, means that Kenyans must be aware that we will all be more at risk and should exercise cautious optimism, avoid reckless abandon.
Uhuru announced that Containment of Nairobi, Mombasa and Mandera will be lifted from 4 AM tomorrow but the curfew remains in place for a further 30 days.
“According to experts and stakeholders, we have not yet met the irreducible minimum of 100 per cent. However, we have met a reasonable level of preparedness,”Uhuru Said.
The president warned of stun action to people who violate other people’s right at home through gender based violence, teenage pregnancy and other home based crimes.
