Popular Mugithi Artist Mighty Salim Dies

Timothy Njuguna popularly known as Mighty Salim is dead. According to reports from various social media platforms, the singer breathed his last on Sunday January 24.

Mighty Salim was reported to have been diagnosed with Diabetes in mid 2003. He was later found with Kidney failure in 2018.

The singer had been bedridden at some point and was asking for help to get a kidney transplant.

Mighty Salim died just a day after celebrating his brother Salim Junior’s 5th memorial.

Salim Junior, also a renowned Mugithi sensation, died in 2016 of what Mighty Salim reported as a chest infection back then.

Mighty Salim had revealed that his brother had gone to their rural home in Subukia when the incident happened and he finally died at a Nakuru hospital.

Politicians and celebrities alike have continued sending in condolences with Samidoh leading the pack with a message on his instagram account.

“RIP Legend. A good heart has stopped beating, a good soul ascended to heaven. You will stay in history of múgithi forever. Thank you for all the pleasure you gave us.

To the Salim’s Family, May our Lord brings you and your family the much-needed peace during this sad time. RIP Mighty Salim”
