Murang’a Woman Representative Sabina Chege had a solution to the mayhem that is being witnessed as learners resume schools. Speaking to a local media house on Tuesday January 5 2021, Chege suggested that some of the money set aside for parliament should be directed towards equiping schools.

“Money is allocated in Parliament, we should allocate it to some of these schools. So we, politicians, must lead. We cannot be complaining as Kenyans also complain. We must ask ourselves where we can come in to assist government,” Sabina Chege informed.

The outspoken leader was commenting on the chaos that are still being felt in most schools as learning resumed.

Lack of water, social distancing, Sanitizers and in some cases, masks have been a thorn in the smooth transition of learners back into schools after a nine months break.

Pictures on social media and comments from parents showed that most schools had not been fully prepared to have students coming back.

Learning under trees was an area of concern and also training learners especially those in grade one to social distance and wear masks all the time.
