Kenya has recorded again the highest number of infections in the last twenty four hours.Giving a daily report of the infection, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe reported that the country has reported 688 cases in the last 24 hours.
This is after a total sample of 4,522 was tested in the last 24 hours.The total number of already tested samples has now accumulated to 238,163.The number has gradually increased because of mass testing and added testing equipments.
The youngest was 7 years old whole the eldest 95 years old.
The country has already passed the 12,500 mark with now the total number of positive tested samples rises to 12,750 people.
Out of the total positive cases, male continued to dominate the figures being highest.The total number of male who tested positive was 425 cases and 263 were female.457 people have recovered bringing the total of recoveries to 4440 people. The number of fertalities has remained at 228 person.
TANA county has joined the list of counties that have recorded any cases of covid 19.Being the latest, so far forty four(44) counties have been affected by covid 19.Most of the recovered cases are from home based care while the rest were from quarantine facilities.
The cases had risen to a threatening number that the hospitals could not accommodate no more patients.The health sector together with the government agreed that all positive cases will handled by society at home based care.The national government further required all counties to have at least 300 beds so as to take care of the cases at county level.
WHO in it’s report hinted that July and August are going to be peak months in Africa and this is evident with the rising cases in the country. The health ministry is urging every person to take a personal initiative and stay safe.
