Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen is renowned for his habit of making controversial statement and no one beats him when it comes to speaking his mind. Murkomen has not spoken about his relationship with the president for long since being removed from the senate majority leader. He on Monday spoke about his relationship with the head of state and other matters of national concern while speaking to comedian and radio presenter Felix Odiwuori alias Jalas.
Speaking to Bonga na Jalas, You tube channel for the comedian, Murkomen said that he has only spoken to the president once since he was dewhipped.  He revealed that they talked about the parliamentary changes and the president told him that he needed people who could push for his agendas.
Murkomen said that he came to know the president through deputy president William Ruto and since then they have enjoyed a good relation as friends. The Elgeyo Marakwet legislator wondered why the president decided to take him from his position yet he has never opposed any agenda by the head of state.  He has been pushing for the success of the big four agenda but he claims that he was told someone better than him was needed.
Out of nowhere, Murkomen chapped at Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i.He said that Matiang’i did not even vote for Uhuru and should therefore behave like he is very important to him. Matiang’i has recently been a threat to politicians seeking supremacy as he has won the president’s confidants and enjoys top national roles. It is alleges he will vie for the gubernatorial seat in Kisii.
He was replaced by senator Poghisio of KANU and his other Allie Susan Kihika was replaced by Irungu Kang’ata. It is believed that the changes targeted the dp’s allies and thus Murkomen had no where to escape.  The changes were extended to the national assembly where both majority leader and majority whip were changed in what was referred as normal party changes.
