The growing hate speech and Political violence in Kenya is cause for alarm since it is only one year to the general elections.

Citizen TV held an interview with various leaders to get their perspective concerning the ill behavior being propagated by the political class in the country.

Otiende Amollo said that Sonko has been reckless with his speeches and actions lately. Actually in law, you can only confess against yourself not against somebody else even if you committed the offence together.
“Sonko was misled to think he can get away with everything. He has been behaving the same way for a period of time & was rewarded not only by the State but also the voters. But he is innocent until proven guilty. He should not be mistreated,” Machakos governor Alfred Mutua remarked.
Kimani Wamatangi regretted that NCIC has been a total let down to our constitutional implementation and the expectation was that they would be taking radical action.
“NCIC has been very shy of prosecutions especially of the political class. NCIC should move with speed. Up to now NCIC has not commented on what Senator Mwaura said in Githurai. Naming and shaming is not sufficient but it’s a good foundation,”Otiende Amollo asserted.
Machakos governor went on to say that some of hate speeches are so direct, some leaders like Muthama issue derogatory terms but all they received is a slap on the hand. The NCIC needs to take action taken immediately.
