England’s Manchester United are poised to face off either against Istanbul Basaksehir or Copenhagen in their upcoming Europa League quarter finals. Man United will then have to meet either Wolves, Olympiacos, Roma or Sevilla in the semi finals. This is bearing in mind that they had already played their first leg of the round of 16 match with LASK. A game that ended five goals to nil in favor of United. On the other side, Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan will face off with either Rangers or Bayer Leverkusen if they sail through past Getafe in their round of 16 match.
The other quarter final will see either Wolfsburg or Shakhtar Donetsk go head to head with Basel or Eintracht Frankfurt. The remaining round of 16 matches between Getafe and Inter Milan, and Roma and Sevilla will be played at a neutral venue as one off games. This is because they had not yet been played by the time Covid-19 pandemic knocked on football’s doors necessitating the halting of the competition. It was agreed that the neutral venues will be in Germany. The other round of 16 matches that had been played during the first leg will proceed as planned with their second legs at the home team’s stadiums.
The games have been scheduled to take place between 5th and 6th of August 2020. With the quarter finals scheduled for 10th August. UEFA also ratified the decision to have the matches played in Duisburg, Cologne, Dusseldorf and Gelsenkirchen. And with the semi final venues yet to be confirmed, the finals will be hosted in Cologne. The quarter finals draw is as follows;
Shakhtar Donetsk or Wolfsburg vs Eintracht Frankfurt or Basel.
Manchester United or LASK vs Istanbul Basaksehir or Copenhagen.
Inter Milan or Getafe vs Bayer Leverkusen or Rangers.
Wolves or Olympiacos vs Roma or Sevilla
