Manchester United failed in their pursuit to get back to the summit of the English Premier league last night after losing to Sheffield United. Sky Sports reported on Wednesday January 27 that Sheffield United beat the Red Devils 2-1.

Sheffield who started off the game as the bottom team in the League scored first. A low drive by Bryan in the 23rd minute came as a shocker to many.

Manchester United answered through captain Harry Maguire who scored in the 64th minute to draw the hosts level. The match seemed to be in United’s favor with chances coming all over.

A surprise goal from Oliver Burke in the 74th minute was, however, a bitter revelation as United failed to comeback from it.

This loss left Manchester United in second position with 40 points after having played 20 games. Manchester City, who have played 19 games, sit a top the league with 41 points.

Leicester City are in third spot a point below Manchester United. Manchester United’s next game comes against London rivals Arsenal who are in 9th position with 30 points.

Manchester United will be looking forward to the clash as they aim to get closer to their first premier league title since 2013.
