Magufuli’s Tough Move To Win Presidential Election Tommorow

Tanzanian President John Pombe Magufuli has been Accused for setting tough rules ahead of Presidential Election tomorrow 28th October 2020. The election will be conducted in motherland Tanzania and island Zanzibar.

The battle in Tanzania will Majorly be between two Presidential candidates, John Pombe Magufuli and his opponent, opposition leader Tundu Lissu. In Zanzibar the major contesters are the former Tanzanian President Ali Hassan Mwinyi’s son Hussein Ali Hassan Mwinyi and opposition Leader Seif Sharif Hamad.

However, President Magufuli has taken a bold step of shutting down and limiting some of social media platforms. The Tanzania Communication Regulatory Authority (TCRA) reportedly to have shut down the usage of twitter in the country over election rigging claims. The twitter users were forced to use Virtual Private Network (VPN) that they claimed it’s so slow taking long time to load.

The government had Suspended the use of bulk message and voice calling service over the claims that may have impact during the general election. The suspension commenced on 24th October up to November 11th 2020.

However, today the Zanzibar Presidential candidate the opposition politician Seif Sharif Hamad of ACT Wazalendo party was arrested and confined at Ziwani police station headquarters in Zanzibar.

According to the reports, Seif Sharif Hamad was apprehended while casting vote at Mtoni Garagar Polling station. His major opponent is Hussein Ali Hassan Mwinyi from Chama Cha Mapinduzi party (CCM).
