Last week Raila Odinga was visited by a group of Kikuyu Elders who came to end the hostility between the two tribes that has existed since Independence.
After Kenya got Independence the First president Jomo Kenyatta and his vice Oginga Odinga parted ways over ideological differences.

The Elders were accompanied by the former Gatanga member of parliament and Kieleweke team leader Maina Kamanda.

Kikuyu Elders Visit to Bondo gave brought hope to his supporters ahead of the 2022 presidential elections as they expect that they will stand behind him in 2022.

On October 16th, addressing mourners during the funeral service of Peter Kihungi and Christopher Mungai who were killed last Sunday during the clash between two rivalry groups amidst Ruto’s visit to Murang’a elders dismissed the Bondo event.

Uhuru’s Cousin Kung’u Muigai remarked that the elders who went to visit Raila were not sent by the President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“Peter Kenneth and Jubilee Vice Chairman David Murathe were behind the Kikuyu Elders Visit to Bondo, I can boldly confirm that Uhuru did not send anyone,” Muigai asserted.

The former Governor of Kiambu William Kabogo echoed Muigai’s sentiment that the elders who visited Bondo did not represent the voice of Kikuyu Community.

Kabogo said that bad politics is what led to the death of the innocent youths who killed when Ruto visited the region
The deputy president William Ruto and the President Uhuru Kenyatta have continued to flex muscles as Kenyatta seeks to secure his legacy whereas the deputy want to clinch the top seat in 2022.
