Kikuyu Elders Speak On Uhuru’s Successor After Ruto’s Storm In Mt Kenya Region

Mt Kenya region is expected to be heavily contested in 2022 due to the large number of voters in the region and the fact that the current president is from the region.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has successfully managed to rally the central region and shown his political dominance by taming leaders who are opposed to his political agenda.

Uhuru’s team stripped off leaders who are in the same side with the deputy president Dr William Ruto such as Kikuyu Mp Kimani Ichungwah, Ndindi Nyoro and Moses Kuria their positions in the national assembly.

Kenyatta’s sentiments that Kenyans should end the rotational presidency between the Kikuyus and Kalenjins raised tension in Ruto’s camp.

Deputy president Dr William Ruto indirectly confronted the president Uhuru Kenyatta for his sentiments which seemed tribal in nature.

Many people are very anxious to know the person that the president Uhuru Kenyatta will endorse as his successor in the Mt Kenya region.

Kukuyu Council of Elders revealed that the person who wants to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta must do much to earn it.

According to a report by The Star, the Kikuyus Council elders secretary-general Peter Munga stated that the person who will replace Uhuru Kenyatta must demonstrate uttermost qualities to earn the position.

The elders stated that Uhuru’s Successor in the region must be a person who Supports the Building bridges initiative and one who is willing accomplish Uhuru’s development agenda.

Deputy president’s constant visits into the central region is among the reasons why leaders want Uhuru to name his Successor as soon as possible.
