Kenyan University Announces Opening Dates Amidst The Covid-19 Pandemic

The president Uhuru Kenyatta made an urgent decision to close down all schools and institutions of higher learning in the country after Kenya recorded the first Covid-19 case early this year in order to avert the spread of the deadly disease.

The Education cabinet secretary Professor George this month made an announcement that they are doing all that is humanly possible to enable the institutions of learning to resume in September.

The University of Nairobi sent all first years who are supposed to join this year a message concerning the dates when they are expected to be admitted in their various campuses.
The SMS informed the new Learners that they shall report on the 31st of August 2020 at the their respective campuses.

“Dear ****Congratulations on your admission to UON for BACHELOR OF SCIENCE BACHELOR OF SCIENCE (******). Your Registration Number is: ***** Logon to using F16/****/2020 and 41704001092 as password to download your admission letter and copy of joining instructions. Reporting Date is 31-Aug-2020,” the message indicated.

It is likely that the University of Nairobi to reopen in September, this is because unlike other universities they made steps ahead to ensure that students Caught up with the lost time through online learning.

However, what will assure the Universities on the reopening is the state of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country by September.

Kenyan University students have been very anxious about when the institutions of learning will reopen since some students had not completed their exams and cats when the institutions of learning were shut down.
