In a bold show of defiance and resilience, the brother of the late gospel singer Rachel Muthoni Wandeto has declared he will continue supporting President William Ruto\u2019s \u201ctwo-term\u201d agenda by branding his vehicle with the political slogan, even as the family mourns her tragic death.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Wandeto, who gained widespread attention after tattooing an image of President Ruto on her body alongside the words \u201cTwo Terms,\u201d died at Kenyatta National Hospital after sustaining severe burns covering 75% of her body. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

She was attacked and set on fire by unknown assailants in Mwiki, Kasarani Sub-County.<\/span><\/span><\/span>Speaking at the family home in Kabumbu Village, Kirinyaga Central, her brother Isaiah Mwangi Wandeto expressed deep sorrow over the loss while remaining steadfast in his political convictions.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u201cMy mother had five children, and now only one of us remains. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

We are asking the government to help us get justice for my sister,\u201d Isaiah said. He added that he would not be silenced by the tragedy and intends to brand his vehicle with the \u201ctwo-term\u201d slogan.<\/a> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Isaiah further called for the protection of freedom of expression and greater political tolerance in the country, urging authorities to ensure that citizens can hold and express their political views without fear of violence or intimidation. <\/span><\/span><\/span>The family continues to push for a thorough investigation into the attack.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Kirinyaga Central MP Joseph Gachoki Gitari confirmed that a postmortem examination is scheduled for Friday as burial preparations get underway. The MP described Wandeto\u2019s death as tragic and appealed to Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen and security agencies to fast-track investigations and bring the perpetrators to justice.<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
