In a decisive intelligence-led operation, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Anti-Narcotics Unit have arrested two suspected drug traffickers and seized a significant haul of cannabis sativa in Kilifi town.<\/p>\n

The operation took place in the Kisumu Ndogo area, where officers raided a residential house and apprehended Eisha Mzungu Kalama and her accomplice, Jamal Chilumo Chiraga.<\/p>\n

According to the DCI, a swift search of the premises led to the discovery of two and a half sacks containing 142 kilograms of cannabis sativa, carefully wrapped in brown khaki paper and ready for distribution.<\/p>\n

The street value of the seized narcotics is estimated at approximately Sh4.2 million.<\/p>\n

Photos released by the DCI show the two suspects standing beside large green sacks filled with the packaged drugs. One image highlights numerous cylindrical bundles of cannabis arranged in the sacks, while the suspects appear in handcuffs during the recovery process.<\/p>\n

The arrested individuals were immediately escorted to Kilifi Police Station along with the recovered exhibits. They are currently undergoing processing and are expected to be arraigned in court soon. Investigations into the broader trafficking network are ongoing.<\/p>\n

This latest bust forms part of continued efforts by the Anti-Narcotics Unit to disrupt drug supply chains along the Kenyan coast, a region often targeted due to its strategic location for both local distribution and potential transit.<\/p>\n
