There has been a stand-off and disagreement on the proposed location of Nyamira University after residents, leaders, and various interest groups disagreed over where the institution should be constructed.<\/p>\n

The matter sparked heated debates in public forums, gatherings, and political rallies, as each side argued for the economic and developmental benefits the university would bring. Pro-Sironga leaders insisted that its central location and accessibility made it the most viable option, while Kiabonyoru supporters argued that its available land was more suitable for expansion and long-term growth.<\/p>\n

After months of back-and-forth, in a post on social media South Mugirango MP Silvanus Osoro<\/strong> affirms that the 52 acres in Kiabonyoru<\/strong> have been secured and declared sufficient for the construction of the university<\/a>. \u201cThe land inadequacy question has been put to rest. The university will be built in Kiabonyoru, and Sironga will not be left behind \u2014 another project will be set up there to help expand the town,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Osoro further revealed that the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF)<\/strong> will take over the site from Thursday this week<\/strong>, with groundwork expected to begin immediately. \u201cConstruction will start as soon as possible. Matunda yameanza kutokea! Good luck, Minto!\u201d he added, signaling the government\u2019s commitment to fast-track the long-awaited development.<\/p>\n

The resolution marks the end of a prolonged stalemate that had threatened to stall the multi-billion-shilling project.
