Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has lashed out at President William Ruto, urging him to stop lashing out in anger and instead listen to the voices of suffering Kenyans. Gachagua\u2019s response shortly after President Ruto issued a strong warning to those allegedly plotting to remove him from power through unconstitutional means.<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking at Kilimani while inspecting a housing project, a visibly furious Ruto declared:<\/p>\n

\u201cLet them try. I am ready. I will not allow anyone to use chaos and violence to overthrow a government elected by the people. Enough is enough!\u201d<\/p>\n

But Gachagua, in a swift and pointed response, accused the President of failing to heed the public outcry and ruling with arrogance.<\/p>\n

\u201cMr. Ruto, excessive anger is not a solution. I want, with a lot of humility, to advise you to stop being angry. You have not been listening to the people of Kenya,\u201d said Gachagua.<\/p>\n

He went further to make alarming claims, alleging that a killer squad \u2014 disguised as DCI officers and operating under the direction of Noordin Haji \u2014 had been deployed to terrorize peaceful demonstrators.<\/p>\n

\u201cA killer squad, working under Noordin Haji, driving in unmarked Subarus, was deployed to shoot and kill innocent protesters aimlessly in the streets and estates,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Gachagua’s explosive remarks mark a dramatic escalation in tensions within the political elite, as the country reels from weeks of Gen Z-led protests against government excesses and alleged police brutality.<\/p>\n
