In a powerful show of solidarity, Former Chief Justice David Maraga joined hundreds of Gen Z protestors on the streets of Nairobi on Tuesday, June 25, in what has become one of Kenya\u2019s most significant youth-led demonstrations in recent history.<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking during the peaceful procession, Maraga emphasized the importance of upholding the Constitution and valuing human life\u2014core principles he believes are at the heart of the protest movement.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want the Constitution to be respected. We want human life to have value. That\u2019s why we are joining this procession,\u201d Maraga said. \u201cI can’t see any violence here\u2014these people are peaceful.\u201d<\/p>\n

His presence among the youthful demonstrators sent a strong message to authorities and political leaders that the protest movement transcends age and politics. It is, he said, a call for national reflection and a return to the principles of justice, dignity, and accountability.<\/p>\n

Maraga\u2019s appearance was met with cheers and applause by protestors, many of whom expressed gratitude for his moral support.<\/p>\n
