The Nairobi gobernatorial by-election that will taking place in early next year has been viewed by many political analysts as a measure of Supremacy between the deputy president Dr William Ruto and the handshake team.

Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko was impeached by the Nairobi County assembly over allegations against him such as misappropriation of public funds, misuse of power and incompetence in running the City.

Sonko accused the president and the Nairobi Metropolitan Services boss for jeopardizing his work as the governor after he failed to corporate in realizing funds.

Reports from the handshake team Indicate that ODM might support Jubilee party during the Nairobi by-elections to avoid a contest between the two top parties.

The deputy president Dr William Ruto has been slow to officially declare the person that he will support during the by-election. Ruto’s allies Bishop Magaret Wanjiru and Former Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu have declared interest in the post.

Ruto’s close Confidant surprised many people when he Publicly endorsed Philip Kisia as a candidate for the position. He described his as a leader who worked exemplary well as the Town Clerk in Nairobi.

The Gatundu South member of parliament heaped praises on the deputy governor Candidate as he outlined her Experience in the corporate world.

“My University of Nairobi classmate Caroline Ndungu has had a sterling career in the corporate world from Coca Cola to the East African Breweries to her current job as the Marketing Director of ABSA Bank (Formerly Barclays Bank),” Moses Kuria asserted.

He said that Nairobi will have a tried and tested team to offer strategic leadership and Innovation to make the leading city in the sun achieve its lost glory and become a logistics, healthcare, financial, aviation and services hub within East Africa.

Since the candidate is not very popular Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila are likely to have an easy walk in the park.
