It has been Celebration in Uhuru Kenyatta and the former prime minister Raila Odinga’s camp after the building bridges initiative went past the counties stage.

In a statement to the press, BBI co-chair Junet Mohammed asserted BBI seeks to strengthen the oversight mandate of the Senate and the County Assemblies, as the main custodians of devolution.

The BBI team is not off the hooks yet as a petition has been made in court over the way that the verification of the Signatures was done.

Lawyer Charles Kanjama disputes how the report proceeded to the county and claimed that verification of BBI signatures done by IEBC was not orderly.

The Case will be heard on March 8, Justice Jairus Ngaah asked him to serve IEBC and the attorney general who are the respondents in the case with the petition before the end of Tommorow.
Out of 4.3 Million, a total of 3.18 million BBI signatures have been verified as it concluded the exercise.

On Monday the IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati remarked that 31,829 signatures were from supporters with incomplete details; 456,079 from those appearing more than once; 7,549 from those with records but no signatures; 668,578 who were not in the commission’s register.
