At this time when the country has been succumbed by corona virus, the football world has witnessed few changes that have kept some of the ardent supporters smiling. The ministry of sports announced the dates and fixtures upon the beginning of a new season in the Kenya premier league. Also the long awaited FKF presidential elections were held successfully despite their being worries and lack of direction as bit seemed.
 Nick Mwendwa was able to retain his seat as the president having scored more than 70 percent of the votes. Few days after his reelection, Mwendwa announced former Harambee stars coach Jacob Ghost Mulee as the new coach taking over from Francis Kimani who was acting as interim.Ghost emerged as one of the most successful managers to lead Harambee stars and his selection has fans craving for more.
AFCON qualifications
In the last campaign, Harambee stars qualified for AFCOn but did not end up successfully being eliminated in the group stages having finished as number three. According to Mulee, he wants to make it a habit for Kenya to  qualify for the competitions and compete favorably. Kenyans are hoping that the next time they want to see the national team win a medal or move to an advanced stage.
Rise FIFA ranking 
Before the match against Zambia, Kenya was standing at position 106 in the current FIFA ranking. Having lost some crucial games, the points decreased and thus had to move down. Now fans expect that with Mulee and his experience, the country will move and be among the top hundred clubs and even beat our neighbors Uganda cranes who are above us.
Olunga and Wanyama to shine
Michael Olunga has proved his scoring abilities as he is leading in the Japan League as the top scorer. Wan ya ma is also performing and Jacob is expected to recall them in the national team so as to bring experience and help lift the Kenyan flag high.
Local talent to be identified
The new coach is a man who loves sport and likes seeing players develop into one of the world most admired. He is expected to tour mashinani and identify talents that he will bring to the national team. He is expected to balance his players across all the teams in the premier league and Nation wide for better results.
